The program offers attendees an opportunity to learn about recent innovations across all areas of eye care.  Courses will cover both clinical and surgical options with a special emphasis in emerging diagnostics, treatments and techniques. 


Anterior segment presentations will include the incorporating advanced dry eye care in practice, treatment of ocular allergy and premium surgical planning and outcome management.  Posterior segment courses will cover minimally invasive surgical techniques for glaucoma care and pre- and post-operative considerations for ophthalmic laser use.  Systemic disease courses will discuss the effects of autoimmune disease and the eye as well as the most commonly prescribed oral medications prescribed in an optometric practice.

Dr. Whitney Hauser received her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2001 from Southern College of Optometry. She completed a postgraduate residency in Primary Care Optometry at the Southern College of Optometry in 2003.


Prior to joining the SCO faculty as Assistant Professor, Dr. Hauser served as Clinical Director and Research Coordinator at an ophthalmology referral center in Memphis, Tennessee. Dr. Hauser has authored many articles focusing on the management and treatment of ocular surface disease, the anterior segment and practice management. She has been an invited speaker across the United States and internationally. 


Dr. Hauser servers as Clinical Development Consultant at TearWell:  Advanced Dry Eye Treatment Center and the Advanced Care and Ocular Disease Service at Southern College of Optometry.  She is, also, founder DryEyeCoach.com, the leading ocular surface disease educational hub.

Dr. Hauser serves on the boards of TearLab, RySurg, Paragon BioTeck, Science Based Health and 1800DOCTORS.  She, also, serves on the editorial board of Advanced Ocular Care.
