ABOUT THE SEMINAR
This 16 hour COPE approved CE seminar will educate the Doctor of Optometry on how to treat and prevent systemic and ocular disease using new medications, dietary supplements and changes in lifestyle. Dr. Paul will cover new areas of nutritional medicine such as nootropics or "smart drugs" that can boost brain performance. In addition, we'll dive deep into the latest technology in the diagnosis and management of retinal disease with an emphasis on age-related macular degeneration and inherited retinal disease (IRD). Rounding out the seminar will be a comprehensive course on the contemporary medical management of glaucoma, and a roundtable on how to be a more profitable and happier optometric physician by working less.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
International speaker, educator, author, and researcher, Dr. Edward Paul is recognized as one of optometry’s foremost authorities on ocular nutrition, macular degeneration, and low vision rehabilitation. He serves as a contributing writer for several national journals and is a frequent guest on television and radio, having been featured on NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX, PBS and Lifetime TV.
Dr. Paul is the founder and medical director of Paul Vision Institute and The Low Vision Centers of North Carolina. In addition to his O.D. degree, he has a Ph.D. in orthomolecular medicine and nutritional science. Dr. Paul is a Diplomate in the International Academy of Low Vision Specialists (IALVS). Dr. Paul serves as an adjunct professor at three optometry schools and is a visiting professor of ophthalmology at three international medical schools.
