ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Dr. Ron Melton is an internationally recognized leader in ocular disease and medical optometry, known for delivering high-yield, clinically relevant education that directly impacts patient care. He has presented more than 1,000 continuing education lectures worldwide and is widely respected for his ability to translate complex topics into practical, real-world clinical decision-making.
He has authored or co-authored over 100 publications and is best known as co-author of the Clinical Guide to Ophthalmic Drugs, a cornerstone resource in clinical optometry for over 25 years. He serves on the editorial advisory board for Review of Optometry.
Dr. Melton is a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry and has participated in more than 60 clinical research trials. He is on the adjunct faculty at both the Indiana University School of Optometry and the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Drexel University.
His honors include the 2024 Golden ICARE Award, recognition among Newsweek’s America’s Best Optometrists (2021–2023), and the American Academy of Optometry’s Vincent Ellerbrock Clinician Educator Award.
He practices in Charlotte, North Carolina, and holds hospital privileges at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center.
